Fearless!!!

Three words to describe my oldest daughter Erika. FEARLESS... INDEPENDENT... SMART. I knew it from the first day I saw her that she'll be all three of those. The way she developed, handled herself and acted thru her almost 4 years of life. I love seeing her grow everyday into a bit of a copy of me.  She is so independent at times that it somehow irritates me and I still want to do things for her, thinking she is my little precious baby. As I started to realize how fast she was growing I try to spend more time with her, learning her character, the way she learns things, sees things and understands it. Today is her first day of piano lessons and she was talking about it none stop. Her little reward for behaving good, is gymnastic/ballet lessons, that she is very excited about.
A few days ago I spotted her trying to skateboard on a adult neightboor skateboard. Not sure where she learned the technique, but she was out there kicking the board in front of her and jumping on it with out any fear what so ever. As I was trying to take pictures of her, I was hoping she would fall with every jump she took.
As her aunt commented about this picture "Fearless! Love her little bow in her hair she knows how to stay true to her girliness and "daredevil" side."

New Look for the Fall

It's been some time since I did any dramatic changes to my hair. A blonde streak here, an inch cut off there... and that was about all the change that was done for years. Finally I decided that it's time and a change would do me good. Ever since I had it done, I've been not recognized by many of the people that know me. It's funny to see people looking at you a minute longer than usual trying to recognize you. It took me some time to get used to myself, but at the end up am very happy with the result and most important my hubby could not stop complimenting my new look. I guess mission accomplished. Will I stay with this color? No, Not for as long as I did with blonde, I will definetly go blonde again, but for now..... Enjoying new me.

Here is before and after pictures, You decide.

Rain... Rain... Rain...

"The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain."

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

As the rain has been pouring I've been kniting away, filling, and shipping orders for warm hats of all sizes and colors. For some reason, more than ever, I am very excited about Fall this year and looking forward to warm sweaters, boots and coats. Lately I've been into bright colors of thread and have created several hats for boys and girls.

Size: 0-12 months.

12 Months

Currently working on several other colors and will share with you as they are done.

Offce/Sewing Room

Finally took some time to reorganize my home office/sewing/crafts room. I spend at least several hours each day in this room. If it's not business paperwork or bills its eather sewing, crafting, knitting or simply wrapping a gift for someone.

I decided to divide the room into two sides to keep paperwork seperate from fabric.

I spotted a wood storage unit, that became very handy for different accessories.

Plus storage boxes and some small decor pieces, I finally finished this room.

People we Love!

On July 8th 2010, I lost my MOM. She might of lost battle to cancer, but she definatly got an everlasting Life with Jesus Christ on heaven. She's been battling cancer in several parts of her body for over 15 years. She's had a total of 14 sergeries and different dangerous treatments, adding up to over 100 hours of full body anesthetia, countless doses of strong drugs and morphine. Thru all these years, she's been thru so much, but most of the people who knew her didn't know half the stuff she was going thru, including us kids. She was a strong women thru out her life and never had time to feel sorry for herself. She didn't want any of us kids to know all of her sickness and diagnose everytime she would come back from the doctors office.

My older sister received a call from her doctor on July 1st, explaning my mom's diagnose and her life expectancy from that day. He encouranged her to sign up for hospace. Much to my disbelief and denial my mom's health was rapidly changing. Going from being able to slowly walk, talk and consume a small amount of foods, to rejecting all the foods & liquids, not able to talk and definalty not able to move around by herself with in only 5 days.

Being the youngest in the family and never losing anyone close to me, I denied everything and had hopes until the very end. I could not amagine myself with one someone I loved dearly and couldn't live without. She was a big part of my life and my kids lives. But God had a plan for her. Looking back at the times we spend together, I remember moments when she would talk about heaven and her going there and (to my understanding now) she was slowly and gently preparing me for this exact moment. But you can never be prepaired for it. Young or old, sick or healthy- Death rips a hole thru your heart that never heals. There are times I wake up and reach for a phone to call her, or have a question that I know she would be happy to answer. I pray to God that He would give me strenght to go thru this difficult time in my life, and greatfully Thank everyone who's been praying and being there for my family.

She's impacted a lot of people with her life and I only hope to be like her, and meet with her there in heaven.
"I love you and miss you terribly."
